fungus identification Richard taught Science at Uffculme School for 11 years, having previously taught for 3 years in Papua New Guinea  - where he spent many hours observing birds of paradise and assisted the BBC with their filming for Attenborough in Paradise. He learned bushcraft skills from tribal groups there, and he has since been taught by others including Ray Mears.  He is a qualified Advanced Bushcraft Practitioner.

For many years, Richard has been active in taking groups out into their natural environment and providing them with nature education.  He is "in his element" doing this.  He is also fiddle player with the Lucy Lastic Band

Alison has trained as a Forest School Leader.  After living and working in Israel, she moved to Ireland where she ran a playgroup for 5 years.  Since then she has worked as a classroom support teacher at Broadhembury Primary School and Uffculme Secondary School (where she met Richard).

Alison has worked with her husband in nature education since 2001.  They have a 1 year-old daughter, Hannah, who is part of the team!

John helps us whenever he can, especially with camps and children's birthday parties.  He is a great asset to the Wildside team.

"Thank you John for playing such lovely games with the children. It made it such fun."  (parent at a 5 year-old's party)
